I've had the ground force 2" drop in my basement for 2 months and I figured I better put it on.

Couldn't get the upper/inner shock bolt with any tools that I have so I just did a coil swap.

Got my wheels back on the ground and my rear end is low, very low.

36.25" before was 39.25" is this normal? My springs were used so they've settled. My bump stops were on my axle, this is what concerned me. I haven't heard of people needing to cut their bump stops with this kit, I swapped my stock coils back in for the time being.

Do the GF shocks effect the height at all?

While I have this thread open, I may as well ask for some tips for getting at the upper shock bolt.

Most guys remove the wheel well liner... You will need a shorty wrench 13/16" like below to get to the upper shock bolts. It's a *****.

As far as the rear springs go, I have had that kit on my truck but mine is a 2wd. I know they sit lower on a 4x4. The pic below is how mine sat with the GF kit.

Thanks for the reply. When you had the kit on your Ram did you look at the bump stop? Was it sitting on the axle or was there a gap, if so, do you recall how much?

I want to put them back on but not at the expense of damaging my truck.

It definitely wasn't sitting on the bump stops. I don't remember how much travel there was before hitting the bump stops.

Check with Etroze about this, he might have an idea.

Thanks for the help. Normally I wouldn't think shocks would effect ride height but this must be the case as I got a 3" drop and sitting on bump stops with just a coil swap.

I went at it again this morning. Picked up a stubby 13/16 wrench, didn't fit tho!

Did the springs again to take some more measurements and a better look.

I apologize for the multi post, on iPhone and I can only attach one photo per post.

The stubby didn't fit on the inner nut? Mine fit easily, it's only around 5" long... Uuuhhh, the wrench that is, lol!

The after picture looks great, that is the normal stance with the GF 2" kit on a 4x4 rcsb.

Took it for a good test drive around my work which is located in an industrial park with some train tracks and dips. Everything is tight and feels good, took it home on the 'freeway' if you want to call it that, went 65-70mph and no rear end wiggle.

The truck is nose high by about .75", i angle my headlights down a little and will be ordering the GF front springs to even it out.

Tip for swapping coils in record time? Forklift use LOL

Nice Nick, glad they are working for you. Take a measurement from front and compare it to rear I bet they are close and its the body lines of the truck that make the nose look high.

Front is high by 1", this drop is making me want more lol looking into a 2/4 drop or ordering a 2" drop for the front. The truck rides great, the rear isn't really any stiffer than before.

are you still sitting on the bump stops? i have the mcgaugys 2" rear springs in my quad cab and i only have 1/2"+ in between the bump stops and axle. i have been debating either chopping the bumpstops to give me more clearance there or swapping the factory springs back in. when i hit a bump i get slammed around now, i can feel when the bumpstops hit the axle and it only takes a few hundred pounds in the bed before the stops are on the axle.

There was a sliver of room between the bump stop and axle. I took a saw to them and gave it some room.

What does the rear of your truck measure? From the ground to fender?
