Hey guys, I have a 2013 2500. My factory hitch is pretty rusty and need to replace it. What do you guys recommend. I will tow 10-12k fairly regular in the summer. I would like one that is tight to the bumper, I’ve seen some that seem to mount under the factory one not interested in that.

Hard to beat the fit and finish of something that was engineered with the truck.

Is the rust the only issue? If it isn't physically damaged or bent or anything, I'd just sand it and paint it. Most factory hitches are incredibly stout, and a little rust won't really impact their ability to carry the weight.

If you need a new one or just want a new one, Curt makes some decent hitches. Look up the bolt-on for your truck and where to buy. That said, most aftermarket ones aren't really any better than a factory replacement - sometimes the factory ones actually fit better anyway.

I’m pretty sure he asking about the receiver on the truck itself. However I will second the weigh safe. It’s the best purchase I’ve ever made.

I second the CURT brand. Had them on several vehicles and never had an issue. Made in the USA, at least I checked. My fifth wheel and front class3 unit are curt
