I bought a 2013 ram 2500 outdoorsman in January and here in the past couple of weeks have noticed a lag when shifting the truck into drive. What can I do to try and fix this issue? Also, while working on the brakes over the weekend I noticed transmission fluid on the passenger side of the engine from top to bottom as well as on the bottom of the truck from the front of the truck to about halfway back on the truck again, basically on the passenger side of the truck. Where should I start as I am getting ready to start pulling a 5th wheel and need the truck to be ready to go.

You’re most likely getting low in trans fluid and should find that leak and fix it and then add transmission fluid.

I have checked the fluid levels and have been keeping a close eye on the levels. That what is frustrating me.

Probably right at the cooler, that isn't uncommon. Follow the lines, and maybe get a pressure test. It could be you have high pressure for some reason and your valve body is leaking as well. Just a shot in the dark but it all makes sense. High pressure caused leak, and valve body leakage cause shifting issue. If I had a Cummins and a rfe, I would at a minimum have an upgraded valve body and pressure valve sensor plus tune whatever. It would be rare, we tend to see low pressure, but who knows.

rfe isn't a very impressive pairing for a Cummins IMO, you should upgrade for a long life span.

Hemi395 found this video and is a must watch for anyone with an rfe, especially Cummins owners...
