2013 2500 cummins shows to have 3.42 gear ratio, I installed lift and now im running 37's what would be the best gear to step up to to regain factory or better get up and go. nothing extreme.

Not exactly sure what can or cant fit or what is offered for your rig, but most guys choose to run something around 4.56s for some better get up and go.

Because Diesels hit peak torque much earlier than gassers,
I doubt you need 4.56's to get into the powerband.

4.10's

(stock tire size/new tire size) x gear ratio = effective gear ratio.

if you went from 31's to 37's you have changed your axle effective ratio from 3.42 to 2.86.

To fix that

(new tire size/stock tire size) x gear ratio = 4.08

..closest ratio to that is 4.10's :favorites13:

If you want to allow for the extra weight of the larger tires
and you pull a heavy trailer, then maybe 4.56's,
but I would check on the ******'s forums for more feedback first.

I'm not 100% but your tranny could make a difference on what gear to choose. If you have a manual I would think you would need less gear
