forward and reverse utility lights

hi all. new to forum and new to Dodge
i always had Chevys. and just bought a Ram 2500
actually i did have a 88 D100 many moons ago 318. great truck. but have had Chevys since
i have a stupid question
it says forward and reverse utility lights on my sticker
do they mean back up lights. and if they do what is a forward utility light

i installed slide step running boards from Raptor. which i really like so far. with weather tech mud flaps.
my son has factory running boards which seem to be better. but. the Raptors are not a bad choice

The reverse utility is the lighting from under the tailgate handle that illuminates the rear bumper/hitch area. I have no clue on the front lighting: maybe off of the mirrors but a guess only.

Maybe the light under the hood, lights up the engine bay?
Still, seems like a strange way to word it.

They are the forward and rear facing utility/spot lamps in the exterior mirrors. You turn them on and off with the button in front of the master door switch:

Interesting. Looks like a nice feature. My 2014 1500 doesn't have it.

thanks for the info. and that makes sense. the lights on the mirrors are great.
so far the truck is great
except i rather have normal gear shifter and ignition switch and old fashion oil presure gauge
next add on. is bed step i am getting too old to hop in and out of bed so easy.
