I got a set of 5" Stainless Raptors from AutoAnything.com...so far, I love them! They look great and seem pretty solid.

5" Stainless Raptors are what I was looking at but the local auto parts shop wants $500 lol that's crazy money for a bolt on part that can be bought for around $300 on-line

Local shops have overhead to run the store; displays, keeping items in stock, employees manning showrooms, etc.
Online stores generally have a web site, one or two people answering phones and email and an office in the warehouse.
People are obviously paying the price they're asking, or the store wouldn't be there.

Some of it is sheer ignorance and laziness, too. People don't take the time to shop around, so they end up paying more. The same folks who are too lazy to shop around are the ones who are too lazy to install their own parts, so the local shop gets to do that, too.

I just got a tonneau cover that was going to cost me nearly $1600 locally. Found it online for less than $1200. I just ordered a billet grille insert for $75 and it's selling for over $150-200 on other web sites and at local shops.
