I’m not even sure they are making it out to the display lots. I stopped by our dealer two weeks ago and walked through their entire group of 2026 1500s and there wasn’t a single Hemi in it.

I think they have not released Very many , and are still pushing the turbos on people. I looked at building one and the hemi was only offered in one model . I do not recall I think it was a limited , but not sure.

It could be such low availability that is causing it to appear that way.

The company said dealers are reporting that the earliest units of the 1500 Hemi are selling within five days on average. That is almost unbelievably quick. The other fastest-selling cars of this year move after 20-30 days on dealer lots.
Of course the Hemi is going to fly off the shelf right now, there's a lot of people rushing to buy them and there's not many in the wild yet. Give them a year or so to get production numbers up and stabilized to see where the sales numbers stand.

Plus I am sure the masses just don't understand how big the e torque issue is dare I say. Hopefully they worked out the bugs, but hope isn't a real strategy, a better strategy would be stay on the sidelines until they prove the e-torque issue has been resolved.

I’m still waiting for your long term assessment.
After many reach high mileage numbers, even if they prove to be reliable .
Not for me.
I will be a dinosaur with a V-8 , and satisfied.

Will have to wait a few years for that, but so far it has been fantastic.

I’ve been reading that the average time for a 2026 Hemi RAM 1500 on a dealer lot is 5 days right now which is exceptional for high demand vehicles which usually fall in the 20 to 30 day range. So, I guess that’s why they aren’t too common on dealer lots.

This makes sense. Many aren't going to trust the new engine until it's been out for a few years and thousands of people are passing 100K+ miles. We're just barely starting the second year with the '26 models. The hemi has gone through many generations and is less likely to have problems.

The early adopters want to champion their purchase. So lots of people saying how much they love it. Not hard to impress truck drivers by adding HP. Throw that in and people are willing to gamble on whether it's reliable or not.

Look at some of the trucks that have had turbo through many different models. Ford is probably the best example of this. Their Eco boost is by far the top seller because they've been around and most of the major issues have been fixed. If you want an F150 with a V8, they are getting harder to find each year. You'd likely have to custom order one now if you want specific options. When I was looking in 2024 and considering the F150, the V8 was already slim pickings.

My wife has a 2019 Expedition. At 50K miles (right before the warranty ran out) it needed to have cam phasers replaced. So was hesitant to purchase an F150 with the same engine. Time will tell if that's going to be common on the Ram I6.

I've gotten cold calls from two different dealerships - one I bought a truck I no longer own from, and the other where I had the truck I no longer own serviced at.

They both wanted to see if I wanted to trade in the truck I no longer own for a new model. They were offering 72 months 0% interest.

I've never had a cold call from a dealership before.

Another dealership in my area is offering a free Jeep Compass when you buy a '25 Bighorn Ram.

I've heard commercials for local Ford dealerships that are offering prime financing regardless of credit score with no money down.

I think dealerships all over, no matter the manufacturer, are suffering.

Haven't heard this type of deal being offered before. That's pretty crazy! They must have a lot of stock on the lots collecting dust if they're getting that desperate. I didn't want the I6 when I bought mine, but might have considered it for a free vehicle. Curious what the details on that are.

I did not know they still made that thing, I guess that's one way to unload them.
I will admit I have not really looked at any new ones.

Kia did it over a decade ago. Buy an SUV, get a Rio for free. Still overpriced.
