Hello guys:

I recently purchased my very first Dodge. It's an 08 quad cab 4x4 with the Hemi engine. I will need some tires at the end of the summer and I would like to put some bigger one's on it. I'm a Grandpa now and not into huge lifted trucks but I would like to add about 1-2"s on it so I can put some larger tires on it later. I've read leveling stuff and checked mine last night but didn't see anything added to the stock chassis. The truck seems to sit level to me. Can you guys recommend the best approach to a very modest lift in order to get some larger tires on it?

Thanks,

Some 2" springs all the way around and matching shocks. Just an Idea.

Would I need to replace springs and/or shocks just to gain a few inches? I suspected there was just a basic spring spacer for a lift like that. Also, do you know if the leveling issue is for newer models or would that conversation apply to the 08 models? I just don't see mine being lower in the front than in the back.

I was just stating what I would do. Leveling kits can work for you. If you raise the front with the kit you should match the shocks.

Measure it... from the ground to the fender. If your measurement are pretty close from the back fender to the front fender then you are leveled.

That is your only option as of now for a lift if you want to stay small. Leveling kit and you can throw some 2 in blocks under your rear leaf springs to give it that "truck" look again.

Welcome, if it's level but doesn't look like there are spacers in the front maybe the rear was lowered with drop shackles.

you can also do a body lift to it you only want to go a few inches.

I would start with this. Park the truck on level ground then measure from the bottom rim lip to the center of the fender arch front and rear. If there is a leveling kit the front and rear measurments should be close, if not the front will be about 1.5-2" lower than the rear.

What do you think is easier? I've found a 2" lift kit for $159 and once I verify that there have been no other alterations, I was considering going that route. Although, for what I'm trying to accomplish, I am looking for the easiest and cheapest route. Just trying to get a bigger tire for it so 1-2" raise is fine.

Thanks,

is that an actual 2" lift, or 2" level spacers? If spacers you can get quality ones for a lot cheaper from our vendor Hell Bent Steel

yeah I think so too and not preferred. I basically want to go straight up 2" or less just to get some bigger tires on it. Guess I will check out the vendor you suggested.

Thanks

you can just do the front level spacers and fit 35's. it will give you the stuff look but they would fit.
