Been a Dodge family member all my life but always ran Jeeps myself.

However, I picked up a 2008' 2wd 5.7l Quad the other day to start on a new project. She's lowered but I don't know how to tell how low.

1) both back shocks were leaking so I replaced them all at a local shop with Monroe shocks... WRONG! The new shocks feel like I'm in an old land shark cadillac with original equipment. I float like a butterfly! That and I'm now slamming down my frame on my axle (by the way, no cut out in the frame).
Are there stiffer or progressive shockes designed to avoid this?

2) based on what lowering kit is on it, I am not looking to put the body on the ground or the frame to the pavement. I like where its at but I tow my ATV with it. Would bags be needed? Different leaf springs or design? Air ride leveling kit?

3) obviously all of you have seen what the Hemi can do... what do I need to add to the #2 question to get the power to the ground? I keep hearing panhard bar... no clue what that actually is. I know what a 4-link suspension is as my backround is lifted vehicles but I know nothing of the limited space I now have.

4)I suppose this belongs in another thread, but what exhaust are ya'll running? Motor is stock (no programmer, headers, intake, etc...) but the exhaust is aftermarket. Single into what looks like a Flowmaster shorty in to duals. It sounds WAY THROATY like there may be no back pressure...
But I have a 5 yr old daughter riding in the backseat I need to hear too...

5)Plans are for a CAI kit of some sort, programmer, proper exhaust, maybe traction bars and then off to interior design.

I know this is a lot and I have searched for some on here so if this is a repeat, if you have the thread link, you don't have to do a lot of typing.

I'll post pics as soon as I get them off my phone but she is all black with blacked out 22" rims and just looks plain mean. El Sadico...

On your exhaust question I am running a Magna flow 18" single in dual out. I have three boys that ride in the back and have no problems hearing and there is no drone into cab at all

Compare a stock height to your truck would be the easiest way to tell. My truck is a stock height 2008 2wd. Give me some measurements and I'll tell ya how low ya went. Lol.

1) yes. There are shocks to fix that. Usually they have specialty lowering shocks to keep that from hitting. You shouldn't need a notch unless its extremely low. I believe 6"+ lowering requires a notch.

3) many things will add power. From LT headers, to an intake, programmer, cam shaft, big head valves. Etc.

I have the vararam as an intake and love it.

4) Like the post above. I have an 18" magnaflow. And believe it is perfect. No drone and not too loud until you get on it. Although I also have pacesetter long tube headers, high flow catalytic converters, and an electric cutout.

Here she is... along with a picture of my bike that I am modeling the truck after.

Finally found a shop here in Longview that seems knowledgeable.

Looks as if it is equiped with a 3/5 drop. I have Beltech Nitro shocks ordered for f/r and possibly a bag system to help support the shocks/springs while towing my ATV's.

I want to add to the exterior:
Traction bars
CAI
Bully Dog Programmer
Roll Pan
Hidden hitch behind plate
Red LED's under the bed rail to light up the bed

Interior additions:
Taking it ALL RED.
Red Leather seats / black piping
LCD screens in the head rests for my daughter
Punisher Skull in the front of the head rest in black
split seats in back
Custom console housing my JL 10W7 and JL HD900/5 from cup holder to back wall
Red Dash
Red Steering wheel
Black carpet
Black Floor matts with red piping
Black roof lining
Kenwood Deck

Ive planted my money tree and begun watering... hopefully I can get this all done in 2012!
