Been a Dodge family member all my life but always ran Jeeps myself.
However, I picked up a 2008' 2wd 5.7l Quad the other day to start on a new project. She's lowered but I don't know how to tell how low.
1) both back shocks were leaking so I replaced them all at a local shop with Monroe shocks... WRONG! The new shocks feel like I'm in an old land shark cadillac with original equipment. I float like a butterfly! That and I'm now slamming down my frame on my axle (by the way, no cut out in the frame).
Are there stiffer or progressive shockes designed to avoid this?
2) based on what lowering kit is on it, I am not looking to put the body on the ground or the frame to the pavement. I like where its at but I tow my ATV with it. Would bags be needed? Different leaf springs or design? Air ride leveling kit?
3) obviously all of you have seen what the Hemi can do... what do I need to add to the #2 question to get the power to the ground? I keep hearing panhard bar... no clue what that actually is. I know what a 4-link suspension is as my backround is lifted vehicles but I know nothing of the limited space I now have.
4)I suppose this belongs in another thread, but what exhaust are ya'll running? Motor is stock (no programmer, headers, intake, etc...) but the exhaust is aftermarket. Single into what looks like a Flowmaster shorty in to duals. It sounds WAY THROATY like there may be no back pressure...
But I have a 5 yr old daughter riding in the backseat I need to hear too...
5)Plans are for a CAI kit of some sort, programmer, proper exhaust, maybe traction bars and then off to interior design.
I know this is a lot and I have searched for some on here so if this is a repeat, if you have the thread link, you don't have to do a lot of typing.
I'll post pics as soon as I get them off my phone but she is all black with blacked out 22" rims and just looks plain mean. El Sadico...
