New here and have questions

Hey guys I have been browsing the site for a few months now. I just bought a 09 crew cab off a co worker and want to do some mods. A few I have in mind are trailer brake controller, my gig ( which I have a lead on already) factory rear camera and new speakers.

My big question is and I see it has been answered but not definitively for me.. The factory brake controller can it be installed? I have the EVIC and I'm going to look for the plugs under the dash hopefully tomorrow as the truck sits at my parents house.

I think it should be, as long as its a 4th Gen I assume you can easily adapt one in there. Changing speakers alone will make a huge upgrade.

I believe it can be, but may need the truck flashed by the dealer to set the controller using the EVIC (you can still set it manually/right on the controller itself).

I still need to tear into the dash...hell I'm still waiting on the previous owners title to come in the mail,after being released from ally financial...

Yeah, you just have to remove the pocket and replace it with the controller & replacement bezel. There are a coupe great how-to's here on the site, complete with pics.

^^ thanks, I have so much I want to do to this truck, I have to sit back and remember that rome wasn't built in a day and do things a little at a time or I would be a financial hole I may never get out of.. haha
