Hello everyone. Joined today. I'd like to introduce my 07 SLT 2500.
I purchased it from an online auction last month in LA for $4,400.
Some spec on the truck are:
2007 Ram 2500 243,000 miles, 5.7 with 2" lift kit
It was a company fertilizer truck, it run great, no check engine lights or transmission problems.
It has some dents dings and flaws but overall a solid truck. So we purchased it. My wife and I drive from Tampa Florida to LA to pick up the truck, Go fill it up with fuel then head out into the highway. 3 miles down the road I experience DEATH WOBBLE. damn it! Prior to us bidding I read up on what it was, what causes it, ways to fix it as well as others horror stories from $500-$3000 in front suspension to fix the death wobble. Oh did I mention that it has a pretty good pull to the right? We it does.
700 miles, 11 hours, 12 death wobbles and not able to go over 55 mph without the slightest bump to cause the uncontrollable onset of pure terror, we made it home.
The next couple weeks I assessed the problems of the truck and did multiple full on vehicle detailing a because it was super dusty inside from mud, grave roads and smokers from the company.
The items it needs are:
T style drag link joint.
Passenger side lower ball joint
Tires were beyond need replacing fronts were bad and the tears looked like drag slicks.
Steering stabilizer probably needed replacing
Right side head light and tail light housing are broke.
Tail gate was trashed and needs replaced. (Works tho)
The dealer did some recalls which included tie rod bar and air bag inflator.
It was nice that the dealer replaced the full tie rods and I dropped $30 for steering stabilizer and $55 for drag link and that solved my death wobble. I still had a right hand pull which I did some more reading and understood that to be crappy tires. $15 for energy suspension track bar bushings.
I took the 2 bolts off the track bar, went to the shop down the road in another vehicle and had the track bar bushings pressed out, pressed in and on my way for $20. I was happy. Went home installed the track bar WAIT A MINUTE. 1 bolt did not fit in the new bolt sleeve. The old one has a larger bolt on the passenger side as opposed to the smaller on the driver/ frame side. The energy suspension bushing sleeve were both the smaller sides so I couldn't directly install the track bar.
My options are get a smaller bolt and stick it in, but! The bracket hole on the axle is larger then the bolt and I felt it might walk around and cause unwanted play.
Or I could drill the slug out from 1/2" to 5/8" and run the old factory bolt. That's what I did. Went to the shop behind the house here in Florida and for $5 a guy put it in a drill press and drilled out the sleeve to accommodate the larger bolt.
Went home and got it all bolted in.

At this point after Christmas we left Florida and drove to my parents house in Missouri. After a thousand miles of driving it on those crappy tires (265/70-17) I replaced them with some MT 285/70-17. Which cured my right hand pull problems. $300 for some 10 ply used MT off CL
The great thing is in Missouri I have access to a full on mechanic shop after hours so that's where I did my tires. Tomorrow morning we leave for Idaho via i29 to i80 to salt lake then on up on i15
Truck runs drives and handles perfect.
Here is a picture of the truck in Florida before I replaced the tires.
