Hi,
I am brand new to this forum and have come from a 2002 F250 7.3L Power Stroke diesel with over 250,000 miles to a new 2016 Ram 2500 Laramie CC, SB 4x4 with the 6.7 Cummins. Are there any special considerations I need to think about that would be different than with the old Ford engine? I am thinking of things like diesel fuel additives, RPM limits, exhaust temp limits etc.
I tow a 30 foot travel trailer that weighs around 9,000 lbs loaded for travel and use a Hensley hitch for the 1380lb hitch weight. My old truck towed this combination very well but was getting quite long in the tooth. I anticipate that the new Ram will be heads and shoulders above the performance of the Ford based on reports from friends and internet discussions.
I would appreciate any advice or hints you can give me to get the most out of my new wheels.
Thank you.
Barney
