What's up everyone, well I finally decided to transform my 2004 Ram 1500 into a street legal race truck. Just gathering all information possible before really jumping into it. It currently has a 3.7 with the NV3500 manual transmission. What options besides the 4.7liter do I have that wpuld bolt on to the tranny as far as going to a V8. I'm working on a budget so doing alot of research first before deciding where to go from here.

Street legal race truck on a budget starting with a V6 bwahahahahahahahahahaha
That's the thing, ain't gonna be on a budget starting with less than a 5.7. Stock 4.7 might not blow your trans apart but a built one (more expensive to modify than a hemi) will and a hemi definitely will, not to mention that trans isn't exactly the hot ticket for performance. You're a hair older than me so I know you remember the ease of engine swaps back in the day; those days are LOOONG gone. Do yourself a favor, sell/trade yours in for something born with a hemi. It will save you costs and headaches throughout the process.
