New Ram Owner

I just bought an 03 Hemi quad cab for 3800, only thing is there are 2 codes on it. a po440 and a po456 they both seem to be vacuum related, i am totally new to ram so does this sound like a familiar known issue? thanks!!

small and large evap leaks detected. Not necessarily a common issue, but the simplest diag is just have a shop fog the system.

It has a performance Air filter that's falling apart and the entire air box has been removed, I am planning on putting stock air box back in, could this possible be the issue?

Not likely. Your evap system deals with gasoline fumes. The entire system needs hold pressure so the fumes are delt with properly, and in your case there is a leak somewhere. And unless youre familiar with what/where to look, the best way to diag is have a shop fog the system. There are a lot of lines with this system, the nvld pump, even the seal on top of your gas tank. When they 'fog' it they literally fill it with a fog so they can see it escaping.

My 03 were rotted hoses about 6" long under the drives side near the gas tank there is a box that hoses go in and out of. They were the ones that were cracked. $12.00 repair. Code was cleard by the auto parts store and never came back.
