I have bought a little gen3 2006 Ram 1500 reg. Cab short wide, 4.7 magnum, 4wd. I got it cheap. I have replaced the fuel pump and battery it has Zero OBD codes. Just hot it registered and tagged Friday. It runs really well.( kinda impressed) it is no hotrod by any means. I live in Bastrop ,Tx snd i am a 63 yrs old man. Not a mechanic per say but have wrenched my own cars trucks bikes boats etc my whole driving age. The little Ram does have an issue. That is why im here. I know i can fix it (just not sure how) and i know someone here does

06 Ram 4.7l 4x4. I assume the previous owner has installed a body lift to the truck and added taller tires. But sadly did not install any suspension mods. Or cross members too set the front differential in a usable horizontal plane with the hubs. The axles were at an extreme angle. In my opinion. The front differential broke the housing where the right side cv axle couples. I have found another differential with the same gear ratio. What i do not know , because i have never done a lift on a truck. Is what i will need to correct the issue.
