im looking to add rear coils that will help keep my leveled truck level ..towing. progressive or longer? maybe the sumo bump stops? I really dont want an airbag kit. Any suggestions or experience with this.

Sumo springs are a good option. They do give a less comfortable ride since they rest on the bump stop pads. I have a set on my 1500 4x4. I haven’t towed anything yet but I think they will prevent the bed from sagging giving a more level ride.

What kind of truck? I ran TuffTruck TTC-1223’s on mine and it did well.

How much weight are you toying? How much is your payload?

Are the new trucks under sprung for their payload?

Those are solid looking. I have mostly same set up but long bed. How much difference empty do you find the ride? Looks like stock ride height would remain the same, correct? Thanks for the comparison picture. Edit, under that the part number you listed is for a 1500, have you installed the 2500 set on your current truck? I haven't had enough weight in my truck yet to worry, but I always wonder if I added something like this, would it help enough if I had to move my cousin's 5th wheel in a pinch. His trailer is a bit over my capacity and since I have the next biggest truck, if he broke down I would need to help out to get the trailer to say a nearby campground. I could probably squeak by short distance, but would like some extra support for that maybe-never scenario.

So I should clarify, that was on my 2016 1500. I currently own a 2500. I was way overloaded with the trailer in that picture and my 1500.

The ride height went up. I leveled my truck with bilstein 5100 at 2.8 in the front, and added the springs in the rear. I don’t remember the exact measurements but empty it raised the rear of the truck about 1.5”. Which was fine since it kept the look I wanted and allowed the truck to handle the trailer weight much better. Ride was much more like a truck, so it lost that nice ride of a 1500, but I didn’t mind at all.

But the wife wanted a bigger trailer soooooo, I now have a 2500. LoL

Have you thought about airbags? I love mine, and they don't compromise ride quality unloaded.

I have sumo springs installed on my truck. We have a 30' trailer and they have helped out a lot. I felt like the rear end sagged A LOT before them. This is with the sumo springs installed.IMG_3150.jpg

I got the Tuftruck TTC-1211s. Raised the back end up about .75 inches, which I wasn't thrilled about. Once I hooked up my camper (6k dry), it leveled the truck without the need for airbags. Now I'm sold it was a good purchase.

Why?

The entire purpose of rake is to allow the truck to seat correctly at full weight. What happens if you pull a 12k lbs trailer today and a 17k lbs trailer tomorrow? You gonna swap spring sets for every load?

I don't have any exact numbers. But I would say in the high 700 to low 800lbs range. I have the 5.7 hemi, with tow package, and 3.92 gears. My rated towing capacity is 10,100. Obviously there is a lot of factors that change that to what reality is.
