I just got a 15 ram 1500 4x4 big horn, 5.7 hemi. Curious to hear everyone input on the difference between turbocharged and supercharged, even pro charged. I know what supercharging can do and that’s my end goal, but what about turbocharged motors? Are they fun? What needs to be done to accomplish?

If you plan on boosting a stock bottem end hemi, hunt up the truck 6.4.It has the best pistons out of the stock naturally aspirated hemi's,it's heads with a spring and valve change are basically hellcat heads,it has a forged crank, the 5.7 has a cast crank, plus it has the BGE block same block as the hellcats use, plus it's 10:1 compression ratio is more boost friendly then the 5.7's 10.5:1

Big horn should have the 8 speed but there were still a fair number of 6 speeds getting bolted under 1500's in 2015.. if you have the 6 speed behind a boosted hemi you're gonna have a bad time. It's a perfectly decent 400hp transmission; as far as I can tell that's about the limit.

I have the 8 speed. Just wonder now if 5-600 hp would be too much for the stock internals. Thank you for the heads up

Awesome thank you, defiantly will be on the lookout for the 6.4. Really would like to build on a 6.7 Cummins but diesel is another tax bracket

With a good transmission tune, the 8 speed will live up to about 650,but you need a tuner who knows what they're doing when it comes to the 8 speed.Do Not remove any torque management ,the shifts will be slow, but the tranny will live:waytogo:
Watch this short video on the 1320's,and listen to the 2-3 shift at the end,Ma Mopar has alot of torque management in the 1320's,they're also the only factory 8HP70 with a high stall convertor and transmission brake
