Have been running the first iteration of the MX4 for 10 years now. While I really like what the cover was the failed hinge seals letting water in and such got old. At the end of the day the panels began holding water and became very heavy making operation difficult.

While Bak did offer me a discount on a new one I chose to go with a quality roll up cover to change things up.

Cue the new Pro X15, over all I really like the cover and got a good deal on it at $460ish shipped t my door.

Install was a breeze (if you have ever installed a tonno before at least) and over all the fit/finish was worth the $$ to me.

Operation is super easy, light weight and quick.

The cover stays closed 95% of the time and its a nice low profile fit. The cloth style cover stays surprisingly clean and does not appear to trap pollen or such.

Now the million dollar question, how water tight is it?

Compared to the leaking MX4 its 100% lol. In reality I would go with 95% water tight, there is minor seeping at the tailgate but my truck has a slight off level tailgate from the factory. A little extra weather stripping should solve that issue..

Over all I miss the piece of mind of the hard cover BUT if someone wants to get it the bed it really won't stop them.

Little update now that the cover has been on the truck a while.

Overall very happy with the cover, the rear tailgate seal has relaxed a bit and I would say the cover it 99% water tight.

Good to hear. My truck also has a roll-up Truxedo (forget the model #) and it's real watertight. If I have it parked at an angle and the rain comes down the right ...I mean 'wrong' direction, small amt of water can get in. But it's rare. And then it just evaporates.

The other nice thing is you can buy a new vinyl cover after 10 years for less ....if you want/need to.

One helpful hint: On cold winter days, that's where you want to use care. Rolling it up in the cold can and will eventually cause cracks along the edges. Vinyl can only take so much. That said, mine has a lot of small cracks on the edges but ya don't really see them when it's fastened. Doesn't let any more water in. Mine is 14 years old. But letting the sun warm it up or rolling up in a warmer garage will go a long ways to keep it nice. But when it needs to be replaced you can just buy the new vinyl piece.

Not for everyone, but if a roll-up works for you, they work pretty well. Just don't want heavy dogs walking on them... etc.

About a year ago, I bought and installed the new BAKFlip MX4 (GEN 3) Hard Folding Tonneau Cover. It has been superb, easy to use, still looks new. I took my time with the install and have it about 99% water-tight.

The one I bought is the fabric style, I specifically wanted to avoid vinyl for that very reason.

FYI Truxedo has a limited lifetime warranty, might try reaching out to them and see if it's covered.

I hear the new covers have been improved a good bit. Honestly though for the $$, previous experience with BAK Covers and my needs the roll up is a better solution for me.

Just keep an eye on the hinge seals at the sides -- https://www.ramforum.com/threads/bak-industries-my-story-read-before-you-buy.96777/
