Hi from Northern California.
I’m looking at a 2019 Ram Classic with the v6 as a replacement for my 2017 Nissan pathfinder. I’m hoping to see it in person today or tomorrow. It seems like reviews are mostly favorable on this truck. I come from the world of Chevy and have always had great luck with them but the price difference is too great to justify. The pathfinder and ram v6 are almost identical in terms of power and gas mileage but the ram has a higher tow rating and the cvt and gdi engine were known weak spots in the pathfinder.
I am perfectly comfortable doing regular and extended maintenance as needed. The truck I’m looking at has about 120000. My goal is 200000 miles with minor components replaced as needed.
Is there anything I should look for in terms of trouble areas? I’ve read cam phasers may need regular replacement. I’m looking at this or an f150 but I keep seeing and hearing that the f150 can have some major issues pop up.
Any input or advice is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Ryan
