I just looked on the Ram Truck build page an noticed that they are not offering a Diesel engine on the 1500 half ton models.

Did I see that correctly? If so, does anyone know why?

I think they are trying to correct the dependability issues they were having with the current ecodiesels and making sure they beat ford and the upcoming gm 1/2 ton diesel output and mpg. Rumor has them coming out in the summer of 2019. This is to be an improved and updated ecodiesel built in a new factory. The old factory could not keep up with demand and concurrently a lot of failures were occuring...

My dealer said that they would have to certify it for 2019 and then have to go through the same thing for the 2020 model year and it was too expensive to certify for only year. 2020 will have new regulations that will stay in effect longer.

^^^Read the same. The change over to assemble 2500's in Warren from Saltillio and covert assembly line in Saltilio to cars is taking a lot of $, time and resources. Rumor is, they needed to prioritize.
