No EGR

Have a 2003 1500 4.7 oe came with no EGR have a new 4.7 but comes with EGR entry if I block it off will the engine still run fine?

if it came stock with no egr, then i would say yes you are fine blocking it off. I believe the issue would be if it came with one and you replaced it with one that did not. New motor is clean, where did you get it from?

Being that the new motor has egr it might be out of a newer truck you can block it off however you need to confirm the crank tone ring is the same as your old engine and that the timing chain is the same they change at year 2004.

i got it online and didn’t know my old one didn’t have EGR

Just checked it and my old one is with 16 and new one is 32 so looks like I will have to exchange it, but I don’t see any crates engines online with 16 teeth and no EGR, is it discontinued?

Did some research and I found the right one but it’s from 99-04 thank y’all for the help really appreciate it.
