Hello - This is my first Cumins after owning a Ram Eco Diesel. I now have a 2024 2500 with 6.7 Cumins, that has yet to regen. There are now 3611 miles on this truck, and the DPF gauge shows 0%. The truck runs and tows fine, just no regen yet. Help.
Thanks, Steve

You may not know it but your DPF regens every 24 hours or if the soot load climbs above 40%, you may know its doing one due to enough steady non stop driving to keep the exhaust system hot enough to keep the soot load down aka a passive regen. The only way to know for sure when the DPF does a regens is to have the DPF screen up when it starts a regen as seen in one of the photos below of my EVIC, I keep track of my DPF time using Trip B, after a regen is finished I reset the counter.

Is this feature just on the newer trucks ? Not sure I’ve seen this option on my EVIC on my 2014 .

the 4th gens didn't have that feature, and from what I remember, the regens were programmed to run every 25K or when the soot started restricting... I could run 48K between regens... then I did some work on her ;) and no more regens needed. 200K miles and nothing but smiles

I've been keeping track of my 2022 2500 regens lately, and it is becoming more frequent, even when I have been on the highway for most of the miles. It seems to stay at 0% as long as I am on the highway, but as soon as I start driving in town, it will climb quickly. Last tank of fuel it regened 3 times. I started noticing it shortly after changing the air filter, so I got another and still runs about 100 to 150 miles to regen again. When it was new the regens were around 3K miles apart, but since hitting 30K on the odo, it has started. It really kills the milage and I am concerned that it may lead to premature failure of the DPF.

Anyone have any thoughts on that?

Regens are every 24 hours or by soot load, but if your driving non stop it can do a passive regens, a passive regen is where the DPF system gets hot enough to burn the soot without the help of adding fuel to the exhaust system..

If your regening 3 time per tank of fuel you got a problem, first what's air filter are you using? If it has glue strips its the wrong one, my self I use the Fleetguard air filter AF-27684 an have no problems ( you can also use Mopar AF-53034051AB air filter without glue strips) how long are your hwy drives as city stop & go driving is killer on the emission system, my self and others have had good lucky using Archoil 6500 & 6400 D, one is a cleaner the other is added to every tank to help reduce soot & raise Cetane number (CN). Another question are you using Bio diesel that contains more than 5% Bio, if over 5% the higher Bio content can cause more soot to build in the DPF, also your truck has been doing regens sooner then 3K even if you did not know it as the system is set to regen approx. ever 24 hours after the last regen...

Thanks for the confirmation. I thought it may be a filter change issue, it started just after the "well baby checkup" at 30,000 miles. I will pull the air filter and check it. Also, I will try the additives suggested.

Just drive it. You can make yourself nuts by looking for problems that aren’t there.
FYI the 2019 to 2024 emission systems are well known to have regens problems that the 2018 & older trucks do not have, btw based on real life results from a lot of 2019-2024 owners Archoil 6400D & 6500 does help keep the DPF cleaner and extend both time and miles between regens....

It may be that the Diesel Particulate Filter is starting to clog up with soot that can't be baked out by heating it up with a regen cycle. The DPF is pretty expensive from Mopar and I have heard bad things about aftermarket filters.
If the DPF is clogging up it will likely only continue to clog further.
