Hey Guys,
Sorry if this is in the wrong spot.

My 2018 won't start. Battery is fine and I tried a reset by disconnecting the negative for 20 Minutes.

It doesn't try to start and I get a bunch of error messages; Faulty Power steering, Faulty Airbag, ect. I assume it might be a fuse just not sure what one ? Will trial and error tomorrow. I travel for work and it was sitting for about a week and half.

Any advice greatly appreciated.
Jeff in Ontario.

What's your battery voltage?

Pull the battery and have it load tested at a FLAPS. Charging it and trying again really won’t tell you if battery is good or bad.

best,

No Flaps in Canada :). At 12.7 it should turn over, plus all the error codes.

12.7 , It's on the charger now. No difference
Just because it's showing 12.7 doesn't mean it's good, hook it back up and have someone turn it over and see how much it drops. If you get it running charge voltage should be anywhere between 13-14.5 volts dc depending on state of charge of the battery.

Guess you’ll have to settle for Canadian Tire. :)

My son had the same issue with his hemi Jeep GC. Battery tested bad so we replaced it. Dash lights, interior lights, etc. all lit up with the new battery but still would not turn over. Problem was traced to a bad starter cable that was also slightly loose at the starter. New starter cable fixed it, but that connection on the starter was a PITA to get at.

My go-to on almost all Ram/Jeep electrical weirdness is checking for a bad battery. The new hi-CCA AGMs have thinner plates that can crack in rough use and lead to battery issues, and a quick free battery test takes them off the suspect list.

Are you getting all the instrument panel lights? Do they stay on when you try cranking?

best,
DG

Cheapest thing to start with is load test, you have to check amps, voltage is only part of equation. Amps start the truck, volts run the accessories. Clean the terminals and make sure all right. If after that it still lights up like crazy and won't start, check all wires in engine compartment. Does starter click at all? If yes, good chance the battery is bad the amps. If nothing at all, bad wire or control unit are good candidates. Good luck.

Totally agree with the others: Load test Batt. An inexpensive import tester will do. Or part's store.

My tk also lit up the cluster with unrelated warning lights (I even got a 'bad computer' warning ...and my batt tested fine with a voltage meter even after charging. But it failed the load test spectacularly. But checking grounds and cable connections is also battery (power) related so if the batt checks out good under load, proceed with connections. Let us know how it goes. Best of luck!!
