I have been playing around on ramtrucks.com and noticed there is no option to click towing technology group on the Laramie 2500s anymore. No 360 camera. Anyone know if this is a permanent thing and you will have to step up to limited? Thanks!

I hadn't heard anything on the towing tech group, but when I was looking earlier this year, I had a dealer tell me they were taking the ventilated seat option off the Laramie trim level. Have not verified that, as I was able to get one that was already built with it, but certainly seemed they were defeaturing the Laramie.

Bummer! The Laramie has been the most popular.
More bean counter decisions.
It could backfire as customers might buy more Big Horns rather than spend up for a Limited.

It doesn't matter what the website states you can or cannot get as an option on the truck, it comes down to what the dealership can enter on their computer placing the order.

True, the bottom line is what the dealer can do on his computer. Fortunately, when I ordered, what the dealer entered was a match to what the website said, but arranged differently.

@John Jensen should add that the factory has to accept the order also. Usually if the dealership can place it the factory will accept but with the way part availability is nowadays you never know till they go to build the truck.

From experience it's best to ask your dealer. When I building my 1500, and checked the Power Running board option I would get a pop up that said to get these I had to drop the "Advanced Safety Group". I thought that strange as I couldn't figure out what one had to do with the other. When I ordered I ask my salesperson, and he said "well, let's just see". There was no problem getting both when he entered the info. I said all that to say this, it could be the web page is all buggered up like it was when I was buiding my truck.

I recently was on RAM website building HDs trying to figure out what I really wanted. You cant get the 360 camera thing on anything but limited and longhorns.

I recently bought a new Ram 2500 Laramie night edition and it was missing the 360 camera. It also did not have the cargo view camera or power running boards. I am a little disappointed. Not sure if I am going to wait and see if I can get over it since there are so few of these out there right now or try and order one down the line with everything. Or upgrade to the limited.

The website build tools are hot garbage. Try to build a 3500 6.7 HO Bighorn then add level C equipment group and it forces you back to a 6.4 Hemi. Same with LED headlights. Can't build a 6.7 bighorn with LED headlights....wtf. The Black appearance package also forces some other options that just don't make any sense.

When I ordered my Gladiator the website tool would not allow me to select max towing while having a soft top selected. Forced it back to a hard top. And selecting BSM removed the max tow. **** made no sense.

The dealer has a lot more freedom with their ordering tool to select what you want.

It gets more complicated than just one dealer. When I ordered, one dealer told me he couldn't order the options I wanted, the computer wouldn't let him. I went to another dealer and he not only ordered what I wanted but delivered the truck in 8 1/2 weeks which spanned Christmas and New Years.

Sounds like supply chain related BS to me. Just like how a lot of the '22 trucks don't have BSM (like mine) or have an LTE delete (again like mine). I wouldn't be surprised if they take advantage of this to push more options up to the Limited level trims similarly to what Ford has been doing for a long time.

So how does the ordering process work at a dealer? Go in, have them build my dream truck, then pay a deposit? Wait 6 most for it to come in?

Yup. That's it.

It worth spending $100 on a Tread Lightly membership. Gets you 1% below invoice pricing.

Wow he is right, the removed vented seats from package A. I bought my Laramie Sport CC 4x4 end of June and the price was $68740. I just built it again and its now $70,650 and they removed the vented seats.

The “Level 1 Equipment” package has also been removed from Limited builds on the RAM website.

They are doing all kinds of things right now due to the chip shortage. It was only a few weeks after I ordered mine that I seen they removed the ventilated seats. I made sure on my build sheet that mine is still on there. And yes they have jacked up the price 3 times since I purchased mine. Thankfully that is locked in, but the rising interest rate is not!

Guess I'll be holding on to mine for a while if all the goodies are being removed.
