Yes the whole quest for the correct muffler setup is part question. I've settled between muffler delete and 14" Mufflex/Magnaflow.
Question is this, is there any potential damage by running muffler delete and/or problems with sensors?

Second question is same regarding installing headers?

I paid for warranty, which I now realize gets voided doing these mods. I still don't want my new 40,000 truck to have dummy lights going off and blowing sensors.
Or more costly, sucking valves and engine failures!

None of my mods have voided any of my warranty. I'm running the Mufflex delete and a reso delete. No lights no problems, love the sound.
I'm not running headers yet but plan on it here pretty soon.

Running an aftermarket muffler or muffler delete will not cause any check engine light or do damage to the motor.

If you end up going with longtube headers, it is normal to get an occasional code due to the high flow cats, but we are able to disable those rear o2 sensors with custom tuning. Hemifever can take care of this for you, so no worries there.

As for the warranty, this all depends on your local dealer. Some are willing to work with you and some are not. I have a great relationship with my local dealer, and as long as they don't suspect deliberate abuse, they could care less what mods you add.

My advice, walk into what ever dealer you would use if you needed warranty work done and ask them how they feel about mods. If the guys behind the counter are cool, them you shouldn't have any worries. He'll, all it takes is a ten minute conversation.

That's sound advice. I have many dealers in metro detroit area. I could just try and find the one that I feel comfortable with their word.
