Finally got around to looking for the source of my front end clunk and it looks like the passenger lower sway bar end link came loose or lost a bushing. Well it has made a slot in the lower control arm. If I put a new one in and torque it down, will it stay in its original spot?

heh... wow... at minimum I'd be adding a washer top and bottom to distribute the force and also ensure both sides are positively clamping the arm at the proper rated torque

Never seen that kind of damage before!

Damn. That sway bar link mount is toasted. And I'd think the fix is a new LCA.or delete the front sway bar until you fix that. Unless you want to be cheap and see how long it last adding more torque to the nut :)

I'd guess the link nut down there has been loose for a big while. if i remember correctly they should be torqued to 70ft/lbs.

when the new setup went in, it would not go in the hole on the outside where it was supposed to go. Hole too small so it went in the inner hole.

Should I drill out the outer hole to match the swaybar link and then tap the inner hole, put a bolt in it and cut it flush then put it all back together?
