I just bought a 99 Ram 1500 5.9L from a car auction and mechanically it's sound... aside from one thing. I think someone replaced the exhaust on it when they had it and it no longer has a catalytic converter. That and the pipes run to a huge muffler and then terminate between the rear wheels. The check engine light told me that the bank 1 O2 sensor 1 had high voltage and the heater circuit was a pending fault (P0132 and P0135). Physically, there are no sensors in the exhaust so is there any way to just disable the codes and have them not throw a check engine light at me?

I don't know what part of Georgia but around Atlanta they have emission check every where else you are good.I bet that thing is loud I had straight pipes coming of the cat you couldn't open the siding back window.Went back and put a flowmaster this was in 1997 .That 360 is a bad sounding engine .

Look on top of the transmission for a plug to the sensor. 4 pin either square or round. Ive been able to keep track of what shape goes to what year and such.

The front 02 is highly involved in a/f ratio of the engine. Needs to be there.

The thing that's weird is the isn't a code for the downstream sensor. Downstream is the one commonly deleted or messed with as it monitors cat efficiency. I myself tied mine up to the frame out of the exhaust. The front needs to be in the pipe. This tells me the downstream may have a fooler plug or be ******* on top somewhere

The downstream sensor shares the same 5V signal source as the gov. pressure sensor & transducer. If you get a code for those and know there good, odds are it’s the rear O2.

I chased that one for a while.
