Just checked my tread depth. Around 8mm front and back. Had them rotated once already cause they were wearing in the back with my fiver. They seem to have evened out. Idk if 8mm is good after 6k on it and towing about2k of it

They aren't wearing because of your fifth wheel. They are wearing because they are junk. If you read enough threads here and research the tires everyone has the same problem. I've never had more than 500 pounds in the back of my truck and they still wore like that.

I didn't know if they are wearing too fast. That's why I said idk if 8mm is where they should be. I know they are junk. I have read that before.

My 2014 came with Goodyear Wranglers, and they suck. If someone so much as sneezes on the road, I cannot accelerate from a stop without the traction control kicking in to keep the tires from spinning. I know the Hemi has power and torque but this is ridiculous for a truck that weighs over 5k pounds.

50-55 psi?? Holy smokes guys.
what's the intention behind that?

Maybe it's just me but i run 35. I imagine 50 would make them hard as a rock and induce spinning when romping on it. My truck cant spin them at all when i hit it hard. Which might not be a bad thing

Exactly why I clarified earlier those pressures were on HD trucks. Although when I had my 1500 I ran 50 psi in the tires on that but they were the silent armors.

I found the SRAs downright dangerous in the rain. Traction control would come on if there was the slightest bit of standing water on the highway.

So far I'm happy with my AT3s. I did loose about 1-2mpg but the added traction is well worth it IMO.

My SRAs are at the ware bars. Picked up a banjo bolt on the rear tire today. Tomorrow, I'll be trying some Cooper Discoverer RTX.

Gotta be better than the goodyears!

Ok my 2 cents worth. My truck has Goodyear Wrangler HP tires with factory pressure 35. Even wear across the tire. But I haven't seen bad weather with it yet. Just my 2 cents worth.

Incdentally, my 2014 TPMS and door jamb sticker calls for 39 PSI on my 1500..

SRAs are on their way out for me. I only had a problem with them one time on the ice in Cleveland last February. Other then that, they were okay. I have the V6 and drive mostly highway with some off road.

I'm looking to replace with Firestone Destination T/A. Anybody have much experience with those?

After having Firestone tires of on different cars and trucks. I will never buy a set of Firestone tires. They are junk. Either going cooper. Good year or BF Goodrich

I just put on a set of Cooper Discoverer RTX. So far, very pleased with them. And for less than 150 a tire.

Yup stock tires suck! I got a small rock from my driveway to go through one tire in the first week and with winter weather here it's almost useless to even try to get out of my driveway without 4x4. Hopefully soon I will get some bfg ko2!

My two dif rams i had were wrangler sra and hp. THEY ARE BOTH GARBAGE! Unless you only drive on dry pavement. Raining, or heaven forbid snow (cuz we get alot of it in wisco) you might as well stay home.

Just did a search concerning tires and came across this one. Thanks for all the suggestions. I have 24K miles on my 2012 Ram Express 2wd RC and have never been really pleased with the original tires. My service guy has always complimented me that I am very easy on tires and brakes. Probably has to do with my age and wanting things to last as long as possible. :)

However, with the last bit of bad Wisconsin weather, I noticed that my tread was woefully shallow to the point that it wouldn't hold any snow. I think I was down to between 3 and 4 32nds. Not wanting to wait any longer, I got a great deal on a set of Firestone Destination LE highway treads. $700 mounted and balanced out the door! What a difference road noise level and handling today in the little bit of snow on the roads. I could probably have waited a while, but the last bit of crappy roads made me very uncomfortable.

In researching my original Goodyear Wrangler HPs, the rating was 340. The Firestones are rated at 500. Plus, my dealer gets $25+ for a rotation and the Firestone shop provides free rotations every 6K miles. That alone over the life of the tires saves me +$200!

I know everybody will have a personal preference, but for my budget and current needs, these Firestones seem like a nice improvement.

How is the wet/dry/snow traction on them?

May be too early to tell, but it felt more secure yesterday on the little bit of snow we had yesterday. We got the snow and mud version of these tires a year ago for our son on his 4x4 2010 Ram and he has been super pleased. He uses his truck for his business and needs to "go where no man has gone." Wear has been negligible.

All I know, is given the way I drive, no tire should be "used up" at 24K miles. On my first Ram, I finally changed out my OEM tires at 54K miles, not because the tread was gone, but because after 6 years, the weather checking had me concerned.
