I am looking for some recommendations on larger flares. I have the oem ram flares now and I am tired of washing my truck every other time I drive it. I went a little to aggressive on the offset on the new wheels.
Has anyone had luck with the eBay version or knock off bushwacker flares? I'm not really wanting to spend the coin on them if I don't have to. My truck is granite so i am guessing I will most likely have to do painted to get it to look right.

Got mine off eBay and my brothers too. Fit is pretty good, but the bushwackers I had on my other trucks fit a little better. The eBay versions look like they came out of the same molds the bushwackers do. I installed the textured ones on my brothers ‘15 Sport. I wish I would have gotten them vs the smooth finish. Definitely would go with the eBay versions vs $300+ for the bushwackers.

Tyger brand found on ebay.
$175. for the 2500's
$150. for the 1500's
Been on 16 months now. No rusting of the stainless steel hardware.
No complaints at all.

Now, what to buy with the $325. I didn't spend on name brand version. ;)8564f83da2adad7397d29daaf2ed2a8c.jpg2ddaf682a1f0ed304971961f8a8d2f14.jpg266d95f162c271f932a5a9cffab20fef.jpg

I have the Tyger brand too. Amazon specials and I’m happy with them.

Just my opinion here, but thought I would throw it out there. But do not install larger flares thinking that they are gonna keep your truck clean. You will still get mud all up and down the side. Been there, done that. It just doesn't work.

Now, if you are installing them because you like the look, then fine.

Yep. Still gets dirty....but it does stop it from flinging so far up on the truck. I used to get mud caked under my door handles and under my mirrors. It has made a dramatic difference. But yeah it still gets dirty lol. I need to snap a pic next time I’m at farm I fogot last time. That was factory flares

Thanks for the replys my goal was to prevent it from going all up the side and confine it to the lower half or just behind the wheels and not up all the sides of the truck.

Can the tyger flares be color matched?
Yes.
I wanted flat black because everything I bolt onto Big White is flat black!

That said, I was actually surprised at how smooth and nicely finished the flares were right out of the box. Shouldn't take much prep work to paint them.

With the tires OP has, you are correct. He's gonna need mud flaps.

I spent so much time looking for wide mud flaps I could use with the flares I drove myself crazy.

Solution: I bought a 1/2" thick bed mat and as soon as it gets warm out, I'm gonna make my own. Function over all else is important.

Big White ain't the prettiest gal at the dance but she can cook!

Warm out here? You might we waiting a while for that to happen. I'm in West Milford so stuck with the same wonderful wet weather.

If the mat doesn't work out well I might suggest another route. Buy some ABS plastic sheets to fabricate the flaps.

Use some cardboard/foam/whatever to make a template and then a router & template bit if available to fabricate the flaps. That's what I've done anyway. Obviously lots of other ways to cut the material depending on what you have available.

Man, I'd like to see some pics of those installed. I assumed ABS would be too unforgiving if I "effed up" while off- road.

As far as weather, well, I'm staying in Cresco, PA now since I sold my house in Sparta. All my tools are in storage.

Had a spinal cord stimulator implanted in my back 2 wks ago and in about another week, I'm FINALLY going to Knoxville, TN. That's the "warm-up" I'm talkin' about. My Wife has been there for 20 months in a small apt., waiting for all this to get done.

Might build 'em like you did when I find land, build my house, barn, shop etc and un-pack all my power tools. Until then, I plan on using a well worn Stanley 99E with a brand new blade on that 1/2" thick, heavy, ribbed, pure rubber mat that currently lives in the bed (keeping it flat).

If I'm not happy with how they turn out and chuck it all in the garbage, Big White's still 75 lbs lighter!

Later Viking

Tyger's on my 2015 1500, they fit good and the material is tough enough that occasionally driving through sage brush doesn't crack them..

I also have the Tyger's from Amazon. I also put some mud flaps from O'Reily's Auto Parts that also help. Painted the flairs as you can see in picture. Drove over 60 miles in a snow storm on New Years eve day and the flares and flaps helped keep the sides cleaner but how much not sure.
