Saw on eBay last night that the sell a late variety of different aftermarket headlights for the 14' Ram1500. I actually liked the looks of a lot of the "smoked" lights. My question is this, they ranged between $100-$200. They were just the housing, the light output would be virtually identical. Is $100-$200 for a smoked headlight housing a cheap crappy product? Or is that an avg price for a housing. Anyone get headlight housing from eBay?

Sounds kinda cheap to me. Seems like they'd be a little more costly. Hit up JJ at Retroshop on here he can modify your stock lights to look bad ass.

Stock headlights or variants that aren't LED or the new style sport housings, are pretty inexpensive. 200$ typically.

Add projectors and whatnot (CCFLS, LEDS's, etc) and the price goes up.

I ordered some spyders at one time for my 2008 3g ram...I wasn't impressed and sent them back immediately.

don't get anything with a smoked lens, trust me. I was running 55w HIDS in a pair of tinted lens and the light output was just like stock. Hit up JJ and get a pair all blacked out like mine...

^ Good advice. Taking apart and blacking out the interior of the housing is a LOT of work, but won't cut down on the light output. Our headlights are terrible and can't afford any less output.
I bought a pair of mint, stock quads for $100 on Kijiji and with about $30 of parts and much frustration got'em blacked out without hint of a leak or condensation.

Having any issues with them? Leaking water/moisture getting inside? How's the light output?

I've had those, 3 sets of them, sent all of them back due to condensation.

Use silicon to seal up the housing before you put them in! Helps with condensation.

I found these on Protuninglab. Will be purchasing this week.

09-12 Dodge Ram 1500 2500 3500 Crystal Headlights (Clear Reflector) -Black

I chose these because I liked how there is no amber reflector. Not to take away from JJ, his work looks amazing. I'm not just prepared to shell out $450-$850, depending on what you order.

Would someone who's sealed their housings before installing, provide a link to what product you used? I've never done that before, and would like to get it right the first time.

Mine cost $235. He (JJ) just painted my stock lights. He can remove the reflector if you don't want it.

I emailed him last night, and his response this morning was $415 for the stock housings painted satin black. To add projectors and HIDs to that, it would cost me $840. Maybe he likes you more lol. I am now wondering if maybe he assumed I'd need a brand new set of housings to be painted, and not the ones currently in my truck...hmm. Yours turned out awesome according to your sig.

Yeah there must have been something he misunderstood. LOL. I had mine done just maybe a month and a half ago maybe two at most. Try him again. Good luck!

The TYC headlights he sells on his site run about $200, so yeah, he probably assumed you wanted a new set painted.

Alright, thanks for the heads up fellas. I'm glad I figured that out before I pulled the trigger on the ones I linked. I'll email him again and make sure that's what happened.
