Went to go change the oil and noticed a huge huge leak. Then I went to go trace it down and it looks like well for sure it was coming from above is this the oil housing? Is there an easy way to tell if it's the gasket only or if it's the entire housing unit itself? Ty.

I would get some spray engine degreaser ( gunk or comparable) spray it all in that area, use a stiff bristle brush to clean the area and hose it off, now that its clean you can see where its leaking, may be the oil filter gasket or even the oil pressure sending unit.

Did you change it yourself last time ? Could be the seal from the filter stuck to the housing . Was the truck cleaned after the last oil change ,as it can creat a big mess . Clean and degrease ,then start it up and observe what’s going on.

Echo what others have said clean all the oil off with brake clean or whatever is handy and you should see where it’s coming from. Never had it happen to me but have always heard the gasket from the oil filter can stick on the base, that why I always wipe/clean base before i put the new filter on.
