My toolbox that I got for cheap on craigslist has this rack type bar on the top and ive been thiking about cutting it off, only down side is I guess it would leave marks from where it was welded on. You guys think I should cut it off? sometimes I think it looks stupid but sometimes I think it looks kinda cool and sets it apart. Its also gonna be turning black soon, most likely bed lined.

ignore the dirtiness...

I say leave'em.. looks like a great tiedown point when you need it... as long as you don't break your back window when you open the case.

yeah the box actually has to sit 2-3 inches back because of them so it doesnt hit the window. I thought the same thing about the tie downs but I have yet to use them...

I had one like this several years ago. I liked the rails on it. You don't see many like that. As for tying stuff to it...I wouldn't go tying a quad to it, I used it for light stuff sometimes. Furniture and such.

I say leave it. Not worth the work and time into it nobody will notice anyways especially when you paint it black.

Hmm still not sure... do you guys think it looks stupid though? Half the time I look at it and it looks like something that would be on like a work truck

Dude just leave it. Where a lot of guys go wrong is that they build a truck based on looks, and not on effectiveness. Those tie downs will definitively come in handy this summer when you go to the lake or something. It has a great function and that shows a man who utilizes all of his resources.

Just my $.02
