A month ago I started having HVAC issues. MY truck has the dials to control fan/temp and direction of air flow. The air flow would not switch direction, It stayed at your feet and a bit on the windsheild I think. The temp adjustment would work, but it seems not as well as it used to. The recirculation would not work either.
I tried the reset trick 100x at various fan positions/fan off.. nothing worked.
I suspected the blendor accuators. I pulled the dash apart today and all the acuators actually work, but it seems they work intermittently. Majority of time turning the dials will not make the accuators rotate, but sometimes they all of a sudden work. If I try the reset trick with the motors pulled off, all the accuators turn. But they stop turning again once its done resetting. Anytime the dials decide to work, they will only full turn one way or the other way.
Is my hvac module pooched?
The only other issue I found is that the blendor behind the glove box doesn't turn easily when the fan is on. It's like theres a suction holding the door from turning. Once the fan is turned off, you can easily adjust the door by hand. Turn the fan on and the suction holds the blendor at the highest position.
My last issue is that I can not put the truck back together because I can't get the accutors to line up the way they were before because the dials don't work.. My understanding is that I have to get the accuators into the position to match where the blendors are resting positions are by using the dials on the hvac..
