Order Cancellation

I have a truck on order and want to know if it's possible to cancel the order before the truck is built. I'm assuming this may be possible if the dealership can cancel the order, so maybe that's my real question... Can a dealership cancel an order that has a build date only but not built yet?

Yes and it should be without penalty.

As long as you did not sign a binding contract, you're not on the hook anyway. Contract signed and/or deposit left you may have an issue. I know when I ordered my truck no contract was signed nor deposit left.

Call your states attorney generals office, some states you have a short time,days for buyers remorse to get out of a deal!

You can certainly cancel before its scheduled. Dealer has choice to order it for stock anyway, or revise the order. They make these kinds of changes all the time.

Most dealers let you cancel right up till delivery (and put the truck on the lot) as goodwill. They don't want to get reputations as being jerks, but then there are a few that are jerks. The exception is if you ordered something unusual or they can't resell easily, but they should have been telling you that right from order time.
