I had some warranty work done, new rear pinion seal and transfer case output seal. The transfer case output seal has a small weep hole. Shouldn’t that weep hole face downward? Mine is up at 10 o’clock…isn’t that wrong? Thanks! It‘s a 2012 Ram 1500 Sport 4x4.

I just changed my rear output shaft seal as well. I put the weep hole at 6 o'clock. Now I have a 2 inch diameter stain on my driveway. Was wondering if I wasn't supposed to install in the 6 o'clock position now.

It isn't a weep hole, it is for pressure relief. Should be between 10 and 2 o'clock. Also, check the actual vent on top of the transfer case to make sure it isn't plugged.
