So my 2009 Dodge Ram Hemi hit 400,000 miles today on my 57 birthday.

I am the original owner and the old girl is holding up pretty well.

Here is some history
- Rear end blew @ 35000 (Warranty)
- Rear pinion bearing broke - rebuilt rear end 295,000 (Warranty)
- Exhaust bolts (Warranty)
- Upper control arm and tie rods RT side
- 2 - Rt hub bearing
- Rt side axle shaft (x 3) (Warranty)
- Cam broke at 160K (new cam, 8 lifters, 10 valves - Warranty)
- Rt side coil packs 140K
- Water Pump/fan clutch 140K and 275,000(Warranty)
- Trans shift solenoid 80K (Warranty)
- Pulley tensioner (Warranty)
- 4 sets of shocks
- 3 alternators
- 3 power steering pumps

- Castrol synthetic oil 5w 20 high milage and wix filters
- 4 sets of lug nuts
- 8 sets of tires
- 7 sets of brake pads
- 4 sets of rotors
- 3 belts
- 15 sets of spark plugs
- 6 trans fluid changes
- 9 axle fluid changes
- Replaced the front differential at 365,000 - catastrophic case failure
- 14 transfer case fluid changes
- Heater core
- AC Evap
- 2 heater solenoids
- radiator
- upper and lower radiator hoses
- 4 batteries
- antifreeze flush and change (x5)
- Rear window switch
- Fuel pump
- 3 washer pump motors

It has issues that I gotta get around to, The radio works whenever the hell it feels like working, the rear sliding glass is stuck in place, there are several broken exhaust manifold bolts and she ticks, passenger side step rail rusted and fell off, the thermostat is stuck open

The body on it is starting to take a beating, rust on the wheel wells, both sides the rocker panels are gone, the door skins are all rusting badly, undercarriage and frame are in very good condition.

- It still has the factory lifetime warranty on the drivetrain.

What is/was your maintenance schedule? What kind of oil did you use?

Any major issues in that time?

What's really amazing is that you can remember ALL the things you had to do to keep the truck running after 17 years. :oops:

Happy birthday!
Yeah, I had some issues on the rear going out the first time. This was before the pinion nut recall. The other was the front dif. They dont make them anymore so we had to go remanufactured. But for the most part they have been really good. They want to keep her going as much as I do.

Your post makes feel much better about wanting to hang onto my 2010 laramie, by comparison I'm just broken in at 210k. Like yours I've got a range of repairs that fall more into the normal maintenance category. Best of all, I'm still under $10k total cost of ownership (gas and oil excluded).
