Yeah, tight fit on mine, too. But it fits well.

Be careful if you go to wally world to buy your filters. Twice I picked up an FE2 box, but inside was a PH2.

I hate thieves.
I returned one once due to a large dent in the side. The whole return department and the security guard were laughing at me because I got mad when they said I was trying to return a used oil filter. I said you damned fools have never change oil in your lives. There would be oil all over this thing. Tards.

Yeah, when I found the PH2 in the FE2 box, I took it to customer service. The lady said, "Oh, yeah. It happens alot."

That was the only one at that WalMart, so I went to another Walmart. They had 2 FE2 on the shelf. The first one, sure as sh*t had a PH2 in the box. The other was good, and I bought it.

I realize it's expensive and time-consuming to catch these d-bags, but maybe if they did it a few times, with real consequences, maybe it might get better.

Years ago I used to buy Fram filters at the local KMart. They also sold some generic filters for like 1/2 the cost of the Frams. You always had to open the Fram box to make sure it was the Fram filter, not the cheapo one.

I would've never looked if the box didn't have some damage on it.

Never even crossed my mind that it was a thing until I found the first one, and that was only a couple weeks ago.

Really burns my ass.

I would not have thought to check either. Didn't some guy on here have coolant in an oil jug or something and ruined his engine? I forget which forum that was on, could be the JL Wrangler forum. He is up **** creek. I bought a case of XG2 filters off Amazon when I purchased my truck in 2015 so I am GTG for a while. There are nuts on the BITOG forum who are using them 2 or 3 times to test their longevity, LMAO.

I used to sell Amsoil and it was like pulling teeth explaining to people you can run oil for 25k miles. It's not worth risking any engine issues by being cheap on oil which is not that expensive.

These FE2 filters must have come out after I researched XG2 filters and bought a bunch but they are ~50% more expensive.

I think they are relatively new. I was buying the XG2 up until a few changes ago, saw these on the shelf. They are $12.97 I believe.

I found them a little cheaper on Amazon though, but I already had bought one. I'm always worried about buying parts on Amazon. The ones I saw might have been shipped from and sold by Amazon, so probably ok?

Spark plugs I would be worried about buying fakes off ebay or amazon but I wouldn't think it would be worth it for them to sell fake $12 oil filters.

I'm in the always put a dab of new oil on the gasket group also...never a problem...father in law owned 2 service stations for over 40years...always did an oil change that way also.
7 quarts in my 2010 5.7 is always a tick low in between the marks but above low line...say a 1/4 way passed the low line

Well, it is worth it to someone, cause they are doing it on $12 plugs and $12 Filters. They are also faking a ton more items than that.

Another old timer who has always lubricated the seal with a thin smear of oil. Don’t buy the oil coking comment, although the comment about easing removal later on might be appealing. But after owning a 17 Shelby GT350 for awhile and frequent reports of oil filters coming loose and the 18 ft-lb torque spec for tightening them - I would just as soon they are not too easy to remove. Tight is good. I have a drawer full of filter sockets and wrenches.
