Got the dreaded P0463 and fuel gauge is now stuck on empty. Took the “easy” way out, did no diagnostics and just put a new pump/level sensor in the tank. Didn’t fix my fuel gauge. Dropped the tank again, got my DVOM out and found low voltage (1.5v) at the fuel pump connector (dark blue/white wire). Checked the voltage at the BCM (C5 pin 17) and it was good (11.7v). Found a good place to splice along the frame rail, ran a new wire to the fuel pump connector and VOILA! Fuel gauge is working again!
