I have 2 check engine codes right now P1740 and P1764. Torque Conveter and Governor Pressure Sensor according to the codes list in the tech info sticky. I'm 99% sure the t/c code is because of the shift solenoid because it did the same thing when I had a bad 02 sensor. My question is what does the solenoid do (idk much about trannys) and would I need an A/Trans Governor Repair Kit to fix it? From what I can tell on Youtube its a fairly easy process of draining fluid, taking off the filter, and unbolting the bracket.

That sensor pretty much makes it shift when it's supposed to.

You should be able to replace it with a Borg Warner unit that's better.
