P1009- U1190-00

Ok, I was getting a trouble code of p1009 for my 2016 ram 1500. Looked up the code said it was a humidity sensor. Went a head and ordered a new one. Simple repair right??? Well after I installed it then cleared all the codes out, I’m getting u1190-00 code, lost communication with BCM… Put the old one back, and got the old code p1009 again.. Tried clearing it several times and no go.. Any suggestions for this???

I am having the same issue! I replaced the sensor twice.
orig----->1st replacement ----> 2nd replacement
P1009--->U1190--->P1009+U1190

Please, HELP!!!

Same.. 2015 Ram laramie.. its been throwing P1009 for a long time.. didn’t really affect anything so just left it. Well decided to finally just throw a new one in.. went to the parts store, grabbed a new one.. popped it in. And boom!!! U1190 Cant communicate.. took it out thinking I may have damaged something taking the old one out.. put the original Back and P1009 is back, then clears.. figured maybe bad part so took it back and got my refund.. ordered another on Amazon swapped it and same thing… so there must be a step we are missing to “register” or something the new module.. any help would be truly appreciated.

Buy the OEM from your dealer or Benny on here.The cheap ones off Amazon/Ebay /local auto parts places,don't seem to play nice with the factory wiring for some reason.
I bought 2 cheap ones for my 300C and both threw codes,sucked it up and bought one from my local dealer,plugged it in,and it works perfect with no codes.

could you have possibly have had to force the Humidity Sensor into the mirror assembly.
It does not take much to bend a pin in the connector.

Even if you did not damage the connector, sometimes the ignition needs to have a few key cycles to recognize the new part & then start working as it was designed

2016 Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn w/5.7L. OBDII code of P1009 Humidity Sensor. I bought the Dorman version of the 68440808AA sensor from Amazon (approx $43 with free returns), installed, and got the U1190 code. Swapped back to original and P1009 code returns. Bought the MOPAR version of 68440808AA sensor from Rock Auto (approx $80 including tax and shipping), installed, and no more P1009 or U1190 codes. (Note the MOPAR sensor has the MOPAR star logo on it, along with the two white "windows" in the surface of the device, whereas the Dorman version did not have (correction here the star logo, and had but one larger white "window" on it. ) So per previous discussion, the cheap parts "don't play nice". Now, when HVAC is not in Auto, the A/C compressor turns on when A/C switch is on and turns off when A/C switch is off, and therefore is not running constantly.
