Need some troubleshooting help.
Was driving my 2007 1500 Laramie 4x4 5.7 on Friday. Pulled into my neighborhood, stopped to talk to a neighbor and while the truck was idling, it died. Tried to restart and it was trying to turn over but acted like no fuel. Neighbor towed me home. I was thinking fuel pump, checked codes and P127E came up. I started researching the TIPM. Seems the 07-08's do not have a fuel pump relay as it's completely controlled by the TIPM. I checked the schrader valve at the fuel rail and it sprayed fuel (don't have a pressure gauge) so I am assuming the pump is providing SOME fuel. I attempted to reset it overnight by zip tying the battery cables together. Try the next day and still the same problem. I find one on eBay, order it, it comes in and I install it. Up to this point, I had my positive battery cable has been disconnected for 3 days. Hook the replacement (used) TIPM up and hook the battery up. No juice. Check the battery (2 year old Optima) and it's at 5v. So not sure why the battery was drained when only the positive was connected. Go get a new battery for the store, and the replacement TIPM has the exact same issue as my old TIPM. I put the old TIPM back in and still the same issue. I am at a loss on this. Could it be the fuel pump sending a P127E code? I'm about to get it towed to a shop (which I hate doing) but this is becoming an aggravation and I JUST filled the tank.
