Good day I was driving home in my 04 ram when I started to smell smoke
then my check engine light when on. The code that is threw out was

P2320 Ignition Coil G Sec Circ

how do I identify which is Coil G and is it as easy as just buying a new
ignition coil and swapping it out?

Hello,

Coil G will be for cylinder 7, and located on the driver side furthest coil back.

I know that if you search for Wells Vehicle Electronics for the coil, they sometimes have a way to test the coil for possible failure.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
- Good trip equal to zero
- (K342) ASD relay output circuit
- Coil on plug resistance
- Ignition coil
- Coil control circuit open
- Coil control circuit shorted to ground
- PCM

Just an update on this, I went ahead and bought a replacement ignition coil and replaced Coil G which is located where AlexP mentioned cylinder 7 on the driver side and is the last Coil on the back. Also that smoke and burning smell I experienced well when I pulled out the coil it was fried I'll find it and post a picture of it but I replaced that coil I was going to replace the spark plugs while I was at it but the ones I bought I cannot find them anymore so all I did was replace the coil. unfortunately I am still getting the same P2320 code so this weekend, hopefully I will find my new plugs I bought otherwise going to go out and buy a new set and swap out the old plugs as I am thinking they got fried as well. Will let you know what happens

P2320 Ignition Coil G secondary circuit

So I went ahead and replaced the ignition coil and plug I guess that puff of smoke and burning plastic smell was from the coil but perhaps it is the wiring as well as after I replaced the coil and plugs I am still getting the P2320 code

Did you ever figure this out? Sorry to bump an old thread but my 2015 is doing the same thing but on cylinder 8 and I’m about to pull my hair out. Replaced coil, plugs same issue. Swapped coils around and codes stay on 8 I’ve got fire to the coil. But I’m lost as to why the coil isn’t firing and what exactly is your secondary circuit. Injector good, plugs and coils good but no fire. Now intermittently cylinder 2 is acting up as well...

After replacing coil and plugs, spent a day checking wiring, I bought a pcm from Flashmasters. Seems to have fixed the problem. Bad driver, I guess. or the coil went bad and blew the driver. I will update.
