2004 5.7 4x4: Have been chasing a couple of codes for forever now in the ignition system...
P2311- Ignition Coil "D" Secondary Circuit
P2314- Ignition Coil "E" Secondary Circuit
P2320- Ignition Coil "G" Secondary Circuit (new)
First time I messed with it coils on 4 and 5 were blown out. Thought that was the issue but no dice. Codes still persisted so I changed all plugs, all new NGK plug wires. all new coils. Codes still persisted but have been driving while trying to figure it out and was running fine. Yesterday the truck dropped low (below 500 rpm) when I had let off the brake after sitting for a while picking up the kids and stalled out. Now it is running like there is a misfire at idle and when under light load. Pulled codes and there was a P0300 random misfire pending and went away but, stored an additional code at cylinder 7. checked the coil and that was also visibly blown out the side. Replaced right away, symptoms remain the same. So now there's 3 separate coils with secondary circuit codes when everything immediately surround it has been replaced. The PCM had also come to mind. Truck had PCM replaced back in 2021 when it had a parasitic draw whether or not that is a suspect im still unsure.
