can you explain what you planned to do with this?
like is this able to pull/make rca leads outta the main 8.4 or 5" radios to plug into amps/subs?

That is correct, it allows you to bypass the factory amp on the 8.4 radios in order to add your own amps while retaining the factory head unit. This is superior to summing speakers and using a line output converter.

I honestly don't know, I ordered this from crutchfield with my trucks parameters selected which where 8.4 factory system with the Alpine amp.
