Paint bubbles on fender

Yeah wasn't expecting it to look like that. I expected a foam material.

From what I can tell from the pics I took of mine I have no evidence of rust starting around it. However, my truck doesn't go out very often in the road salt as I have a company vehicle so mine might be a bad example.

Had this happen on my '14 with only 15,000mi on it. Truck is white. I also had the truck oil bath rust proofed the first week I got it. Dealer knew right away after seeing the paint bubbles the fender would need to be replaced. Rusted right through sheet metal.

Pulled my 2011 apart today - Sport 1500 4x4 Quad Cab

Truck is Mint , only 26,000 miles

Well , enjoy the pictures

Now I have to figure out how to treat the one rust spot from the backside that has not bleed through yet

And like mentioned , that fiberglass tape is not coming off

Was also told if I tried to remove it the fender would come with it - It's pre attached to the new fenders straight from Mopar

Damn man that sucks... Maybe try soaking it with wd-40 to displace any moisture and then soak the **** out of that whole area with something like fluid film.

This whole thing is such bs this shouldn't even be a problem...

Exactly what I did today on both fenders - That stuff is like rock hard adhesive

Honestly , I think the only way you could get it off is with a grinder , and that's not happening

Talked to some body shops today - They told me it's an bonded material that gives the fender strength or body thickness , the metal is so thin , it's needed to keep the fender from deforming or buckling

$50,000 MSRP 2011 Ram Sport , 26,000 miles , always garaged every night since new , washed regularly - I can't even remember the damn thing even driven in the rain

Thats pretty pathetic if you ask me. Needing a material on the back to keep it from deforming because its so thin?? What do you want for $40000???

So did you have to take the entire front fender liners out to get to it?

Wheel Liners Out - Piece Of Cake , Some Of Those Barbed Plastic Plugs Are A Pain , And Watch For The Wiring Harness For Each Sensor That Has A Barb Poking Through The Wheel Wells - Just Push Them Out

Anyways With Those Wheel Wells Removed

Spark Plug Changing Is A BREEZE !!! Wow , So Easy , Even Under The Brake Power Booster
