back in summer i noticed a small defect around my left passenger door so i had the dealer take a look at it and they sent pics to Chrysler to get warranty worked approved. they told me it could take up to 3 weeks to hear back so after a month i started wondering what was going on but figured i'd give them another week or 2.

i ended up getting 2 recalls for the air bags so i made an appointment to get that done and figured it would be a perfect time to ask about my paint but i was told(with a pissy tone) that it had been approved a week after the pics were sent in and that she had been trying to call me for weeks. i had no calls from their number and not a single message so i don't really believe that. she said that there was a 30 day limit to get the work done which is now passed so we'd have to submit pics all over again

now she gets back to me saying the work is approved again but i only have till next Thursday to get it done. she wants the truck on Monday and said that it will take 3 days to a week to get it back. problem is harvest is set to begin on Monday which the truck is required for so i asked if there was any other time as i simply can't be without the truck for that long with harvest going on. her reply(again pissy tone) was that it was now or never so i asked if i could at least get a loaner which was refused

has anyone else ran into these issues with warranty work? the 1 month time limit i can understand but now setting week limit seems a bit ridiculous

They should at least give you a loaner. I bought my truck used and it had a scratch on the side of the bed they couldn't get out, so now they have to re-paint. They already told me upfront they will give me a loaner until the truck is done.

I was denied the loaner due to the fact i'd be towing with it.

When I bought my truck the box and cab were put on crooked. They had my truck for a week realigning everything. The wouldn't give me a loaner but they paid for a rental. They did ask if I needed a truck which I didn't. I just needed transportation. They drove me to Enterprise and in 10 mins I had a rental. It was pretty painless actually.

Dealer/warranty work varies by location.

How well your interaction with either of these are hit or miss.

I could see them refusing you a loaner because of the towing situation.
However the "now or never" is BS!

see that's what pissed me off. i told her i have to have a truck so i either need a loaner, rental or it has to wait till next month all of which she refused. she flat out said "it's now or never Chrysler won't approve the work again". i guess it's not gonna get fixed then because there is not a chance in hell i'm going to delay getting my crops harvested over a small paint defect that took me a year to even notice. i'll probably just end up paying out of my own pocket once i get spare time

I would just go back when harvest is over. Bust out the warranty paperwork and your states laws if you have to. Or just go to another dealer, explain the situation, and tell them you would like to bring your business to that dealer.

rain all weekend forced me to delay harvest anyway so i took it in this morning. had to haul my 76 year old grandfather out of bed at 7am to give me a ride home only to get to the dealer and have them say they decided to give me a 3 day rental. sure would have been nice if they had called me about it before i arranged a ride. in the end there wasn't even any trucks available for rent so i didn't even bother.

i'm happy the dealer tried to make things right in the end but honestly the whole process with them has me thinking i'll go to a different dealer next time

I wouldnt even worrying about it. Today I started repairing all my factory paint defects all 1 million of them. I figure by the time I finish, Id be trading it in for another something something..

I spent 10 dollars on some generic pw7 touch up paint and repaired the corner of the tailgate that appeared to have a pinhole and blister in the paint from new. I figured it would probably look better than a complete ****** of a respray done at my local blind mans bodyshop LLC . HAHAH.

yeah i have quite a few minor defects here and there but this one was a paint run right on the door which was starting to crack up a little so i figured it should be fixed

anyway this is now the 3rd day and haven't heard anything yet so they seem to be taking their time, hopefully tomorrow. i also took it in very dirty so i'm hoping maybe i get a courtesy wash

That's a invitation for swirls and scratches........
I place Do Not Wash post-its inside my vehicles when being serviced.

well they did wash it, crappy wash and they completely skipped the tailgate and rear bumper for some reason. i think they also cleaned the interior a bit but i try to keep my interior pretty clean as it is so hard to tell. i know i did have a nice big spot of grease on my seat which now doesn't look as bad so maybe they did something

honestly i don't care about swirls or small scratches, it's white so not that noticeable. truck is used around the farm and on gravel roads so already tons of stone chips. in fact got the first chip just bringing it home the day i bought it lol
