Hey all. I just installed a pedal commander on my 2014 1500 with the 5.7 hemi. I definitely notice a difference, but I am surprised about the amount of lag that still exists when I take off from a stop, even in Sport+ 4. The tires do chirp a little more, but there is still a fair amount of lag when I stomp on it from a dead stop.

As I said, when it starts to go, it will chirp the tires, but there is still a fair amount of lag before it starts to go after I stomp on it from a dead stop.

I was just wondering if this was everyone else's experience.

Thanks in advance.

I never noticed any lag, but I also never stomped it from a dead stop.
At any speed, the throttle response is awesome!

This, along with TCS/ASC will delay power transfer even if you've eliminated the pedal input delay. 1st gear on the 8 speed is like 50:1, you aren't getting all the ponies and torque from the stock PCM.

Would it be better to disable the TCS?

Brief and lose explanation... The pedal commander only changes the throttle position sensor. Most of today's cars are electric throttle. Dodge / Ram can offer 'better mpg' cause the adjusted throttle response. The PD only changes that electric throttle signal. It doesn't actual improve HP, Torque, etc. While a great addition, it fools drivers, increasing throttle response.

Your hemi, is awesome, but the lag is there with or without the PC. For most of us, we really want a a performance chip / monitor. Those will actually change (computer) HP, Fuel ignition, trans shift, etc.

The pedal commander for my Turbo Ecodiesel is a good alternative. I'm wanting a true performance chip/monitor...

I hope that helps.

Quick Question, Does Eco mode still come on when cruising or do I loose it with a PC?

Eco mode still comes on for me. I haven't heard any different from anyone else. Now that I've had it for a little while, I absolutely love it. My truck now drives how I always wanted it to.
