Pentastar & Air Suspension

I am wanting to order a Ram 1500 Longhorn and am using the Build option on the Ram Trucks website. I want a Pentastar and select it, but when I select the Air Suspension option later on, it removes the Pentastar and replaces with the Hemi. I am wondering why the Air Suspension requires a V8?

Probably because it's part of a package. Is it the four corner air susp or something different. I ask because on my 2017 Rebel, I got the Pentastar with the four corner air.

It is the 4 corner Air Suspension. In the list of options, the Air Suspension does not appear to be part of a package. I thought maybe it had to do something with towing or heavy loads, but I am more interested in the lowering ability for my short legged wife and for the smooth ride I have seen mentioned in other posts.

Good to hear though that someone has the Air Suspension with a Pentastar. Maybe it is just a quirk with the website build on the Ramtrucks.com site.

After reading your post, I tried to build out a Rebel on the website and it does the same thing. After selecting Pentastar and then Air Suspension, it removes the Pentastar and asks you to select either one of the Hemis or the Diesel engine.

So then they have built it into the motor "package", so to speak.

Personally I'd add bags after the fact. It adds complexity that can be costly to repair when it's integrated from the factory.
