Perform Service reset

I just replaced the CCV filter and installed a CCV delete kit at the same time on my 2020 RAM 2500. Tried resetting the Perform Service light about 10 times with no success. Used method I found on one of the threads. Any suggestions.

PERFORM SERVICE INDICATOR - RESET
Unless reset the “Perform Service” message will display on the EVIC each time you turn the ignition switch to the ON/RUN position to indicate a emission maintenance is required. To reset the “Perform Service” indicator system (after performing the scheduled maintenance) refer to the following procedure:
1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (Do not start engine).
2. Press and release the brake pedal two times.
3. Fully depress the accelerator pedal slowly two times within 10 seconds.
4. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF/LOCK position.
NOTE: If the indicator message illumination when you start the vehicle, the “Perform Service” indicator did not reset. If necessary repeat this procedure.

That is the procedure I did when I changed the filter. How many times do I have to do it. I did it 10 times already.

When I changed my CCV filter it took me several ties to get the reset to work. I did the same thing every time but I eventually got it right.

Where is the part where you do the Hokey Pokey and turn yourself around? I’d love to have been the engineer to have designed that and then spent years laughing at guys trying to replicate it.

Success. Finally got it.

The perform service light reset for a couple of days and it continues to come on intermittently. Called dealership and the service department said that when you change the CCV filter it also requires to remove and clean the EGR cooler at a cost of about $900.00. They would need the truck for three days. Any feedback on this is appreciated.

Your dealer is full of BS! Your truck does not require EGR cleaning.

Absolutely amazing what some of these dealerships will try to pull on their customers. Just one of those and they would loose me as a customer forever.

Also the 2019+ engines the CCV filter service is not required until 75K...

Thats the way it was on our Durango & my gaser 2500. Three times done.
