Hi everyone. FNG BravoHotel here.

I’ve been in a place that has large amounts of silica deposits for several months now, and look forward to going home.

During this time the good idea fairy has visited me about my truck, which is an 05 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7 solar yellow RWD with about 73,000 miles.

I had the following in mind was open to what possible alternatives might be.

First off is the suspension. I want to improve ride quality and find a solution to rear squat when I haul or tow. Fox? Bilstein? McPherson?

Next is air intake and exhaust. Shorty headers, with a H pipe. Magnaflow? flowmaster? Intake, S&B or K&N?

After things like exhaust and cold air intake have been installed, what ECU considerations are there?

Cosmetic things like new LED head and tail lights, new bed liner, new infotainment interface etc. I think that is enough to start.

One thought on rear squat when towing, without knowing your set up and trailer weight, you may be over weight and air bags and shocks won't fix it correctly. Definitely consider weight distribution hitch if not already. Lots of good threads on the subject in this and 4th generation forum. Good luck with your upgrades.
